On first impression, there are very few Macca songs like this in his catalog- always a good thing. The only two similar songs are Anyway and This Loving Game.
I love how it grows, how he doesn't blow his entire wad up front and intead builds on the arrangement-- very classic-Paul.
Vocally, I like how he is handling his lower register-- note that Paul's "LOWER" register is normal for many other singers 40 years younger.
I would be surprised if those aren't real, actual instruments playing and not Wix or David Kahne messing around-- if they are, YAY Paul.
Lyrically, wow-- I love how, somehow, the phrase turns so that instead of a rhyme with "Sun" in the last line, it sounds completely natural to sing "home"-- I don't know how he does it. These sound like classic Paul lyrics-- lyrics where Paul is actually grounded/with it-- this makes me very excited about any new music that may be coming soon.
All in all-- good track- it won't be topping the charts-- and I DO think Macca has one more chart hit in him (Dance Tonight came close)- but all in all-- fantstic!
