I live an hour away from Fairfield and I just emailed Heather asking about a press pass. Hopefully I'll get to go
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

I still haven't received an email back from Heather in regards to a press pass so I don't think I'll go, that's disappointing

Just an hour away, you should, the tickets didn't seem that too expensive. You would be able to give us all a great first hand report. James and band must be good, he's got a lot of guts to come right off a few small gigs straight to the US where I'm sure there are a lot of media just waiting to compare James and Paul. It would be nice to get a real fan's perspective.

eh. Not as good as I hoped it would be. Lyrically, he's really weak. And overall, its all pretty bland and generic. Bordering on cheesy.

And I've honestly been excited for a long time to hear him! His voice is pretty good, though comparisons to his Dad are really inappropriate.

not to mention totally unfair to him. come on. paul has been forced to carry a solo career that faces the impossibly high standards of his former band. but that is paul's albatross. he earned it by a achieving near perfection early in his career. and he has been striving (and occasionally reaching) greatness ever since. and...he just happens to own one of the most famous voices of a generation.

james...is just son of paul. if paul ever felt pressure, the expectations for james are unattainable.

maybe it is a blessing and a curse. he will always fall short of any comparisons. but the interest generated by being his father's son will guarantee not only a decent croud, but media coverage too. he will fail (to be as good or better) but he will given a chance many never get.
