Paul McCartney Prepping Reiussues And New Studio Release For Next Year

(RTTNews) - Paul McCartney's manager Scott Rodger has confirmed that the former Beatle will re-issue two of his classic albums next year. During an interview with TWiMusic, Rodger revealed that both Wings Over America and Rock Show will see new releases.

For the Rock Show release, the McCartney camp will offer a selection of previously unreleased material that was cut from the first album due to time constraints. There will also be a live DVD filmed during the shows for the live album. Rodger also confirmed that Sir Paul is currently working on songs for a new album due out sometime next year.

Paul has also confirmed that he will close out the opening ceremonies to the London Olympics. Speaking with BBC 5, he said "I've been booked" and explained that he would be "closing the opening" of the special event.

The opening ceremony is July 27 in East London and has an "Isles of Wonder" theme. The ceremony is being staged by Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire director, Danny Boyle, who is also the event's artistic director.

I do agree with a lot of these comments. When McCartney and McCartney II was released, a card inside told us to look for these upcoming albums: Wings over America, Speed of Sound, Venus and Mars, and Ram. Yes, Rock Show is a film, from 1982 I believe so this reporting as an album is wrong. The pace has certainly fallen off from the Band On The Run to McCartneys reissues. Maybe Paul wants to spend his retirement years (his `90s) reissuing. At this pace, I will be in my `90s before they have all been reissued (now 49). Maybe he will surprise us near the end of the year with a sudden re-issue for Xmas. He always seems to like to have an offering of some kind near the holidays. I had hoped the two at a time with the McCartneys was a sign of things to come, but alas. Though at nearly 100 bucks a pop, like Deluxe Ram reissue, one a year is not that bad.

I thought Rock Show was a film. Sounds like shoddy reporting (AGAIN!) from sources that don`t do their homework. If I had to guess, since the facts clearly are scant or poorly represented, this sounds like one release: Wings Over America with a ton of bonus material and an extended Rock Show film. So, where`s the reported second classic album? How about Venus and Mars or Wings at the Speed of Sound? Both of these would fit well thematically with Wings Over America. It`s cases like these that cry for some editorial comments, Mike. Not everyone who visits is an expert on the McCartney catalog, so if you`re going to reprint misleading or sometimes factually questionable material, you should put some kind of disclaimer in there.

Thanks for discussing your ideas. I would also like to say that video games have been ever evloivng. Modern tools and revolutions have aided create genuine and interactive games. All these entertainment games were not actually sensible when the real concept was first of all being used. Just like other kinds of technological know-how, video games also have had to progress through many ages. This is testimony towards fast development of video games.

Next year? It`s only June, this year, let`s have another reissue or a new album. If a new album is planned for next year, then two-three reissues would be perfect in time for christmas. He`s got a HUGE discography and it`s moving rather slowly. Happy birthday! : )
